Galanthus nivalis
Surrender
Snowdrop is regarded as the first flower of spring in the Northern hemisphere and symbolises purity and the cleansing of the earth after winter. This flower symbolises moving from darkness to light. Like the phoenix of immortality rising from the ashes of the old, snowdrops burst into the world, their warmth melting ice and snow.
Snowdrop flower essence helps us to triumph over fear, grief and pain, particularly in times of change and transition. When we accept our powerlessness over circumstances that cannot be controlled or changed, we reach a turning point.
Snowdrop shows us that there is no holding back the tide so we may as well flow with it, even if it is not easy or comfortable. When we surrender our attachments to the past, and to what is passing, we find freedom and new hope. Like the light at the end of the tunnel, a clear vision of the future may be revealed in all its beauty and potential, as we consciously move towards that vision with renewed hope and optimism. Surrender, release and let go. Move forward with renewed hope and optimism. Be still and find your inner peace.
