Acceptance

According to legend, the Glastonbury Thorn grew from a wooden staff said to have belonged to Jesus, when Joseph of Arimathea struck it into the ground. As well as flowering in spring, it flowers again at the Winter Solstice.

Hawthorn is an extremely valuable medicinal herb used mainly for treating disorders of the heart. The Holy Thorn symbolises acceptance and understanding extended from an open heart.

Holy Thorn flower essence brings gentleness to people who may have become hardhearted, or who are hard on themselves and others. This creates barriers to being able to express yourself authentically in relationships. Whether from a need to protect your own heart from hurt, or from fear, it essentially blocks the flow of love that enables you to reach out, empathise and understand others’ feelings and sentiments, and creates barriers to being able to express yourself genuinely in relationships.

The power of love is so great, it dissolves hurt, bitterness and all sense of injustice.

When the heart chakra is awakened, the impulses of spiritual inspiration and altruistic love pour in and through you, allowing you to express yourself freely without fear.

By accepting yourself and others wholeheartedly and without reservation, you bare your heart and soul, the source of unconditional, transforming love. This manifests in

your life as intuitiveness, deeper understanding and compassion; love-in-action that can transform suffering.

At its highest expression, this essence awakens you to the presence of universal Christ-like consciousness in yourself and in others. In the Buddhist tradition it expresses the Bodhisattva aspiration to assist all sentient beings to reach enlightenment.
